Smoked Meatball Sub Recipe

SMOKED MEATBALLS RECIPE
1 lb ground beef
1 lb Italian sausage
2 eggs
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup red wine
4 cloves minced garlic
2 tbsp dry minced onion
1 tbs black pepper
1 tbsp Italian seasoning
1 tbsp fresh rosemary
2 tsp dry oregano
2 tsp salt

In a large bowl, soak bread crumbs in a little red wine for 5 minutes. Add eggs, fresh rosemary, garlic, dried minced onion, black pepper, italian seasoning, sea salt, and dry oregano. Mix well. Add ground beef, Italian sausage, and parmesan cheese. Mix until all ingredients are well combined, then form lightly packed meatballs about the size of a golf ball. Dust meatballs with a little black pepper and Montreal steak seasoning or your favorite dry rub.

Set up your grill for indirect cooking. Place meatballs on indirect side of the grill and smoke at 275-300 degrees until internal temp of the meatballs reaches 165 degrees.

DAD’S EASY MARINARA SAUCE
1 can drained peeled whole tomatoes (28oz)
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp italian seasoning
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
3 cloves garlic
1/4 cup olive oil

Combine all ingredients into a food processor and pulse until mixture reaches consistency you prefer.
